This show runs a very huge risk of alienating people who love ballroom dancing by treating the genre as something less than a dance form. If this continues people like Jason Gilkinson and other ballroom choreographers will eventually get sick of their genre being insulted and they will walk away. Imagine the repercussions if this happens. Not everyone enjoys endless Hip Hop every show. The show was always touted to be a diverse show about ALL genres of dance.

Big mistake tonight with the Bottom 3 couples. The fact that both Don & Issi are still there sucks and we have to send home two others. Becuase it was only Doug and Grace going home I'm not so fussed, and I'm happy about the new Nick & Jess partnership

I wouldn't be surprised if Issi pulled out because of her injury anyway, therefore Grace would be back just like Gianne came back when Penny had to leave Oh that was a good day, got Gianne back and got rid of Penny

OMG my heart was racing tonight. Was at MIL and I made them watch lol .
That was the crappiest bottom 3 ever. Don and Issi should have gone, but Grace and Doug were the weakest of the three.
I figured they wouldn't kick Kieran (or really any of the dancers) just based on the solo, when the judges really take into account all the weeks that they have been dancing.

I think the public assume that dancers are safe if they are good so don't bother voting.

The bottom 3 couples were all wrong imo. I would gladly see Heath, Phillipe or Matt go over any of the 3 who landed in the bottom 3. I do however think they picked the right 2 out of what they had to.

I got bored and fell asleep, even funny Mary couldn't keep me awake.
Like the boots, but it's not as if I could care who got dumped anyway - just don't touch Phillipe, he's good perving
This series is just not coming together, the couples are clunky, we haven't a single zinger performance.
They will need to get to about half way and rid of a lot of onlys so-so dancers - or maybe just partners - before we get some special stuff happening.

Phillipe's abs are all that are entertaining me at the moment, hmm he's quite delish - but that thing on his head would be better shaved.

So the group numbers are working better because they are partnered diffferently, thanks Bonny.

Jason seemed to be getting all confused about the premis of his own show last night....when he was dribbling on about the bottom 3 and you have to vote because no way are these dancers the worst dancers they are some of the best dancers blah blah

I do believe the tag line for the show is 'Australia's favourite dancer' not 'best dancer' and he has said this himself many times before - way to contradict yourself mate.

No great loss with Grace ditto Doug, didn't understand why Jess' solo was considered the best out of the girls.

Agree something is missing this year. Contestants think they are better than they actually are? Ego issues? Can't put my finger on it.

I usually fall asleep watching it this season. Often while Bonnie is yammering.

Condoms should be used on every conceivable occasion

re Bonnie, how many people need to complain before someone gets her some media training or kicks her off the show?

TV Tonight has written a very good article about Dance today.

on the other forums they are making some great suggestions.
How about the judges pick the B3 and then the public vote for who leaves?
Or free voting like they have is the USA.

QUOTE posted by elysian_dolcezza View Post
They are always hard on the ballroom dancers when they do solos...they did the same to Henry Kieran is a BALLROOM dancer, he doesn't do solos with hands over face (Nick) etc etc...come on!
Ballroom is just not the same as a solo as it's a partner dance, that's the whole idea of it and that handicap can never be underestimated but unfortunately these geniuses at Coleman and co and their obsession with the "everybody's in the same boat BS" they continue to critique it as such. Not even Jason Gilkison's world-class choreography is gonna make a 30-sec ballroom solo as interesting as one from another style. Go figure.

Didn't enough spend time learning from ex-hubby on how to judge on this show.

Actually Goffy you would expect less "diluted talent" amongst dancers as they have a very young & very short career in general.
But there just isn't anyone zingy like Jack or Rhys so far.......I'll just keep watching Phillipe's abs; little dude is one of the most interesting but what can you do with a pixie boy other than novelty stuff.
